Confidence & Assertiveness Therapy in Cary, NC & Online in North Carolina

Low confidence and difficulty asserting yourself can affect relationships, work, and overall well-being. I provide therapy for adults who struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, and setting boundaries, through in-person sessions in Cary, NC and virtual therapy across North Carolina.

You don’t have to keep shrinking yourself to keep the peace. Therapy can help you find your voice—and actually feel good using it

Confidence doesn’t mean being arrogant—it means trusting yourself enough to speak up, say no, and show up fully as you are

  • Second-guessing everything you say, even after the conversation is over

  • Saying “yes” when you want to say “no”—then feeling resentful or exhausted

  • Avoiding conflict, even when something really matters to you

  • Struggling to speak up in meetings, relationships, or social situations

  • Worrying about being “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “too assertive”

  • Over-apologizing or minimizing your own needs

  • Holding back because you’re afraid of judgment or disappointing others

  • Feeling small—even when you know you have something important to offer

Maybe you find yourself…

Building Confidence & Assertiveness Through Therapy

  • Explore where self-doubt and people-pleasing patterns come from

  • Practice setting boundaries without guilt or fear of conflict

  • Build a more grounded, internal sense of confidence (not just “fake it till you make it”)

  • Learn how to express your needs clearly and calmly

  • Reframe negative self-talk and challenge perfectionism

  • Work through fears around rejection, judgment, or disappointing others

  • Learn to take up space—emotionally, verbally, and physically—in a way that feels authentic to you

  • Start showing up in your relationships, work, and life without shrinking or second-guessing yourself

Our grit gives up grip -something to latch on to and connect with.

Confidence and assertiveness aren’t about being louder or tougher. They’re about feeling solid in who you are, and knowing you have a right to take up space in your own life.

We’ll work together to empower you in owning your needs and taking up the space you need to thrive

In therapy with me, we’ll dig into the roots of your self-doubt. Maybe it started in childhood, or from past relationships where speaking up didn’t feel safe. Whatever the reason, we’ll work through it—not just to understand it, but to start changing the way you move through the world now.

We’ll practice setting boundaries (even the hard ones), saying no without overexplaining, and speaking up for yourself without the flood of guilt that usually follows. I’ll help you get clear on what actually matters to you, not what other people expect or demand.

This won’t always feel comfortable—and honestly, that’s kind of the point. Growth doesn’t happen when everything feels easy. But I’ll be here with you through all of it. The discomfort, the “what if I mess this up” thoughts, and the big shifts. I can handle that space, and I’ll help you learn to hold it for yourself too.

You already have a voice. My job is to help you trust it and use it in ways that feel real, strong, and unapologetically you.
